Banking
doesn't
have to be
boring.
I build products that change how people relate to their money — and lead teams that dare to choose away.

What I believe
These aren't borrowed frameworks. They're lessons from a decade of shipping things that matter — and a few that didn't.
On product
“Features are cheap. Products are hard.”
Most organisations build features. They take orders, ship requirements, and measure success in releases. Building a product means something harder — owning the outcome, not the output. It means asking 'did this actually help someone?' before celebrating a launch.
On leadership
“The smartest thing you can do as a leader is shut up. Much longer.”
The direction and the problem should be precise. The success criterion should be measurable. But everything within that — experience, channel, timing, copy, experiment design — belongs to the team. That's where ownership lives. Leaders who fill that space with answers are stealing it.
On strategy
“Strategy is the art of choosing away — even when it hurts.”
It's easy to fall for what's visible, nearby, or technically fun. But growth with force requires saying 'this problem matters — this does not.' Every yes is a hundred hidden noes. The discipline to hold that line, especially when everything seems urgent, is the real job.
On banking
“Traditional banks serve themselves. We serve customers.”
The Norwegian banking market is full of complexity by design — complexity that protects incumbents, not customers. Bulder's bet is simple: what if a bank worked the way customers actually think about money? Not products, not segments. Just real life.

Operating principles
Bulder runs on three principles. So do I. They're not slogans — they're the filter every real decision goes through.
Customer-Obsessed
Every product decision starts and ends with the person using it. Not the segment, not the persona — the actual human trying to do something with their money. If you can't articulate the real problem you're solving, you're not ready to build.
Make People Capable
The best financial product isn't one that makes customers dependent on you — it's one that makes them feel powerful. Financially capable. In control. Mastery is the goal, not engagement metrics. When people feel strong, they stay.
Hard Focus
8 people who shout versus 1 who rows. The discipline of focus is the hardest and most underrated skill in product organisations. Have we said no to enough things? Are we disciplined enough when everything seems exciting? Focus is a competitive advantage.
Beyond the day job
The things I build when I'm not building Bulder.

Conference founder
Volum
A free tech, design, and branding conference I co-founded in Bergen. 1,000+ attendees, no bullshit, open to everyone. Because good ideas shouldn't have a ticket price.

Speaker
Y Oslo — Shape Up
Presented at Y Oslo alongside Ryan Singer, creator of Shape Up. "Edgy, ikke mainstream" — on how Bulder uses six-week cycles, bets instead of backlogs, and teams that own outcomes.

Writer
Medium
I write about product leadership, organisational design, and the messy reality of building in fintech. 614K LinkedIn impressions, 125K members reached. Most recent: "The smartest thing you can do as a leader is shut up. Much longer."

Event
Bulder Undergrunn
An underground AI hackathon — hustlers who ship, hackers who cut friction, slightly crazy people solving real customer problems in a garage. Because good products aren't built in boardrooms.
